2000 expedition thrown into park while driving what should i expect now, car kept rolling foward no noises. Car was stopped right away.

There shouldn't be any surprises manufacturer specific. You may have experienced a ratcheting noise as the park pawl was trying to engage the rotating park gear. It will do this until the speed is low enough that the spring can engage the pawl to the gear. Is park gear functional now? If it is, I would not suspect any coincidental damage.

No ratcheting noise was heard car almost seemed to go into neutral. Car parks fine if pushed while parked the truck will seemingly roll or move an inch or two. But i will use parking brake from now on for added security. I heard some of these transmissions had a safety mechanism preventing damage in this situation, i can' find any model specific information though.
