Is it possible to replace the rod bearings and a piston without pulling the engine out of the vehicle? My engine is knocking and I cant afford a new engine. I can do the work myself.

If it is knocking, the bearing is most likely bad whether it is a main or rod.

It would be easier to remove the engine and do it outside as there is little or no room to do iot in the vehicle.

You most likely will be replacing the crank and all bearings, oil pump as well.
