2000 Ford Expedition 4X4 4.6 ltr V8

Lifter/valve noise #2 cylinder! Was told it was lifters but no! I replaced them. I pulled lifters and rockers out checked them thouoghly replaced lifters. Rockers show little signs of wear, bearings ect. Valve stems and springs appear fine. Take rockers off noise might go away. Take lifters and rockers off and noise does go away! Engines runs smooth when all together just a horrible noise! Mileage 145,000

Check for any clearence between base of cam lobe and followerie. Cyl. At TDC

Possibilities broken valve spring or seat has come loose from head
