Van wont even try to turn over tried jump starting rocking bump starting and knocking starter motor but still wont turn over glow plug light not present on dash either

Is this an Escort or a van? Have the battery and starter tested. If both are good, it's the starter solenoid. Or, MAYBE the ignition switch.

Also, I've never seen an Escort with a diesel engine, either. This means there should be no glow plug light on the dash to be turned on.
