00 dodge plugs

I was changing my trucks plugs and the two in the front I cant seem to get the socket in inside to the sleeve that surrounds each socket. What should I do?

Those are shields to keep heat away from wires. You can squeeze them with a set of pliers to remove them. If you want to reuse them, only squeeze them slightly and twist up. When you put them back on you'll have to tap them in place.
