2000 Chrysler Intrepid Repair Question

Morning start
Hi. I have a 2000 Intrepid and for a couple of weeks now it won't start first try in the morning, just kind of sputters out whether I give it gas or not. Second try it starts but to my untrained ear, it sounds like the choke is cutting in and out and the engine labors in between. Once warmed up it runs great the rest of the day. Any ideas I can try? Can't afford to take it to a garage right now. Thank you, Dale

Test the coolant temperature sensor and also clean out the idle air control valve and see what happens
