I have a 2000 chrysler concorde lxi with a 3.2 liter engine and about 143,000 miles. The problem I am having is when I come off of the highway and slow down or stop, I feel a jolt in either the engine or transmission and then the check engine light goes on. After that the transmission will not shift. When that happens, I have to pull over and shut off the engine and restart it. Once that is done, the tranny will shift again and after a day or so the check engine light will shut off. Then in about another day the process will repeat itself.

You will have to get the car scanned to find out what circuit/s turned that light on, most likely speed sensor code because the car is putting itself into limp-in mode, Get the code/s and that will be your starting point for troubleshooting the problem.
