I started my vehicle normally as I would and went to take it out of park and into drive it wouldn't move at all as if something was stopping my back wheels from moving so I put it in park and started it up again and then I called my insurance company for road side assistance and they brought it to my house what could be the problem

When you put it in drive, did the engine rev like it was in neutral or was there a load on it? Did the check engine light come on?

Neither and the check engine was off but its a clanking sound in the back when I try to pull off
