fuel pump, starting problem

i have a 2000 silverado it sputters when i start it and sometimes dies, i replaced the fuel pump yesterday, the check engine light came back on today. did i put in a bad fuel pump?? or?? the truck does seem to drive fine sputters when not moving tho..thanks

Do you know the diagnostic trouble codes? Did you happen to have battery disconnected while fuel pump repair? If so try cleaning throttle plate with carb cleaner and brush, see if idle improves.

the trouble codes were mass airflow sensor or fuel pressure cant remember the actual codes would have to look agian, and i will give that a shot thanks.
