I need to replace it. Is it under the hood or under the dashboard?

It is accessed from under the hood. I am attaching the process from the manual below and location view for your review.

Plus here is a guide on how to replace a blower motor which is more general but should help out as well:

Please let us know if you have questions. Thanks

That is the thin coat of degraded plastic mounted to the outside of the actual plastic housing. It deteriorates and rarely is reusable. It may even have already been discarded.

I have a problem with the front heater in my astro. The speed control does not work however on occasion will work. The occasions it does work are becoming fewer. I don't know if the problem is the blower motor and even if it is I don't know where it is located. Can you help me.

My 96 is doing something very similar I only have high speed for the fan. It is the heater relay switch. Mine is located just below the blower motor. Two self-tapping bolts and some water resistant sealent holding it in, one elec conector on it, once you pull it out it looks like a small PC board. $60 at GMC dealer was my quote for the part.

I was wondering if you went from the inside under the dash, or in the engine conpartment to replace the blower motor. If you have step by step instruction that would even be better.
Thank you for your help,

chances are its not your motor .behind your washer bottle you see wires plugging into a back plastic shroud.it seems when you dump cleaner in the bottle .the wires get splashed.pull the relay out of the black shroud its just a snug fit with tar.after market ones are built better but may not fit properly without some alterations to the hole.i made my own box out of a vcr case and stuck it to the firewall.
