2000 BMW 523 engine management light

Yesterday we had to have our car jump started, it seemed ok after that, I tried it this morning and it started, but when I tried it later it wouldnt start and I noticed the engine management light is now on

The battery needs to be fully charged, load tested, and the charging system tested after that

Yes. The alternator should put out no less than 13.5 V with all of the electronic accessories on at idle
