Hello I got my timing belt replaced today by a certified mechanic and only the timing belt. I've had it looked at by 3 different mechanics and all told me the timing belt was the only issue. So after he replaced it I drove my car around and noticed a loss of power and the engine sounding really rough. The car shuts off if I don't give it gas and the check engine light turned on too. Not sure what's going on and just wanted to know what you think this could be thank you I really would appreciate your time.

Scan for codes, it may need a timing belt tensioner which should have been replaced at same time as belt.

Thanks for the response and ran the codes and he told me it was the camshaft code that came back couldn't tell me much more about how to get it fixed or the cost though you know how much that would be and if that's the issue?

Not really because I would need the specific make of car and year engine size as well as what the code was.
