Car stalls and sometimes backfires at take off, I have replaced the sparkplugs and coils. What could be the problem? I also have bought timing belt, water pump, and serpentine belt and was told I don;t need these items-but these have never been replaced by me. What could be causing my problem--and I don"t have any engine codes?

Are the spark plugs of the correct specifications?
Check the compression, valve clearance and fuel injectors.

The timing belt is overdue for replacement and should be checked.
