My keyless entry pad on my key chain battery died, so I unlocked the door with the key and the alarm keeps going off and now I can't even turn on the car. What should I do?

GM anti-theft systems are by far the most effective at keeping owners out of their cars. Try unlocking the passenger door with the key. If that works, suspect broken or frayed wires between the driver's door hinges or the linkage to the disarm switch is unhooked.

If that doesn't work, pop the key fob apart and replace the battery. They usually use a button battery available almost anywhere.

You could also try this pop the back of the remote off and remove the printed circuit board look on the board where the button's press on the board see if there is black stuff built up on the board also look on the button's for black stuff. If there is any take a tissue and clean it all up. Then check the battery if it's bad which they don't go bad often replace it. If the remote still doesn't work go over by the car and hold down the lock and unlock button's for 30 second's to reset the remote.

Hi saturntech9. I figured at 11 years, the battery is due but the original ones still work for my '93 Dynasty.

When you hold down the lock and unlock buttons for 30 seconds, is that on the remote, I assume? Kinda hard to do that on the car with a rocker switch. Does that teach the code to the car? And if so, what's to keep someone from buying a remote fob and doing that to any Saturn in the parking lot? Or does that just reset something for a fob that's already programmed to that car?

You must be talking about your car with a rocker switch caradiodoc because the saturn factory alarm doesn't have a rocker switch.I hope there talking about there factory key less entry and not a aftermarket alarm. Sorry I was unclear on where to hold down the lock and unlock yes it is the buttons on the remote/key fob. Also to answer your other question you can only do this reset if the key fob has already been learned into the rke module. You take a unlearned one and just program it. You can also do the reset procedure on other factory gm key less entry's.I do not know much about the dodge key less entry if that will work.
