WHY WONT MY CAR START AFTER CHANGING HEAD GASKETS

1999 Pontiac Grand Am • 200,000 miles

I have a 99 pontiac grand am I changed the head gaskets before I changed them the car would start right up now that there changed the car will crank but will not start why

Also did you make sure the spark plug wires are all routed correctly?

Yes all wires are routed correctly he said one of the exhaust valves are stuck closed


Did he say which exhaust valve isnt opening?If its stuck closed then there must be a be a push rod or lifter issue?

Yes there was 3 push rods bent and he said its one on the back of the motor that isent opening


The push rods were bend because they were put back in the wrong place. The exhaust and intake rods are 1/4" difference in length and cannot be mixed, however they commonly are.
