I just finished putting in a used transmission as the old one was shot. I got it completely put in and had the put in a new crankshaft positioning sensor and it started and ran fine. The first day I drove it to work(30 miles one way) and on the way there the transmission jumped like it was falling out and after a few seconds it was fine. It threw an error code so I checked it when I got back home, turned it off, got cleaned up then went to pick my kids up from school, shut the car off picked up kids then went to the bus stop to pick up my son and it dies. The error code was the camshaft positioning sensor and the parts stood said that would kill the car. I replaced the sensor it ran for about 8 miles and then died. Depending on how long u let it sit will determine how far it will go the next time. Where do I look for problems

The code I got the day it jumped was p1391 that's why I changed the camshaft positioning sensor. Now when it stalls I don't get that code or any other code. The van just dies and after u let it sit for awhile it will start again. Tonight I tried switching the relays, EAXT shutdown the automatic shutdown ad the fuel pump just to see if any of those were bad after they got warm but that didn't change anything. Last night I checked the wires that run through the front motor mount and they all looked good. Thanks for looking into this

When it dies and doesn't restart, check to see if you are getting spark and fuel to the engine. Let me know which is missing.

Have you checked the crank sensor? Also, have you checked the coil when this happens?

The crank sensor is brand new and when I installed it I put it in to the spacer stopped it and tightend it down. I haven't even thought of checking the coil pack
