Engine knock and stalling

I have a 99 oldsmobile alero 2.4L, it has stalled a few times. When the engine was at operating temp; when put into gear it would die. I also have some knocking noise. I have checked the fuel pressure, replaced fuel filter, did compression check. And everything was ok. I was thinking maybe a bad camshaft for the knocking but have no idea for the stalling. Any ideas?

Before you sink alot of money into this, have a pro checkthe knocking noise out so you have a better idea of what it actually is. It may be hte reason for stalling as well as it may be running with one cylinder out.
