Put the old system back.

Cold air intakes have little or no effect on engine performance with many, many other changes

1999 mitsubishi galant 3.0. We replaced the air intake system, and the new system does not have electrical plug for the old system.

How do we fix this issue or bypass it so car stay's running?

Thanks..

30 yr old son is in Missouri and I am in Utah, so I can't see what is happening.

He is car smart, but this one has him and me stumped. Car will start up and then stall out.

It says there is an adapter harness for the mass air flow. Does he have one? It sounds like what is going on here

K, that was the issue. He had to drill out the new one a bit for the old one to fit into.

He re read the papers on it and figured it out.

Thanks alot for your help.

K, thanks alot for your help.

With me not being there (1200 miles ) and seeing what he was working on, was the hard part for me.

But we both thank you alot for your help.

Once I told him that, then it all made sense to him.
