Everytime I turn the wheel, go over bumps, or back up, my car makes a loud squeaking sound that is unbearable. I read online that it is possibly the power steering belt, or a power steering pump? Does this require a mechanic? I don't want to be over charged for something like this. What is it and how much will it cost to fix?

It sounds like you need to have the steering and suspension inspected. Joints in the steering and suspension have boots covering the joints to keep out dirt and water and keep grease in. When these joints wear out or boot break open this allow for play and rust to happen causing a squeaking noise. You can try to duplicate the noise by raising the front end of the vehicle off the ground and turn the steering wheel back and forth to try and cause the squeak noise. Doing this can help isolate where the noise is coming from and identify what joint is causing the noise. Try this and get back to me, TY
