1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse Purchased New O2 Sensor End Plug Rounded Old Squared

I purchased a new o2 sensor and the end of the plug is rounded. My old plug is squared so it does not fit. Does this mean I am looking at the wrong o2 sensor or I bought the wrong part? They said this was the right one for my car
