Transmission leaking
I have a 1999 mercury mountaineer it is leaking transmission fluid. there is a line that looks like over flow on bottom of trans it leaks out of, when i plug it it leaks all over. lhere is also a line on top that is disconected it looks to go to transfer

Check to see if the lines go to a trans cooler or to the radiator. They sound like cooling lines. If they are, they need replaced. Often times they rust and leak. For some reason, I am seeing a lot of the 98 and newer Ford products rusting on the underside. Other than that, there shouldn't be any that go to the transfer case or an overflow.
