1999 Jeep Cherokee Repair Question

Jeep Cherokee Sensor Problem
CODES P0340 and P0122 Showed throttle position sensor and cam sensor condition. I was told it did not have a cam sensor. The symptoms are it idles fine but during driving the valves rattle and sounds like a detonating knock. Could it be the timing?
