Shifter/cluch

I have a 99' hyundai accent. The shifter stick on a 5 speed had to be slammed to go into gear. Someone told me to check the fluid or maybe it might be the slave clynder. Can you tell me where I can get a pic. of where all the parts are for the cluch and stick? or If you have any other ideas on how I can fix it Please let me know.
Thank you very much.

The clutch master cylinder is on the firewall (driver's side). As far as the slave, it is mounted on the transmision. You should be able to get it out of gear with the engine off regardless if these parts are bad.
