ENGINE GETS HOT WHEN IDLING WITH A/C ON.
1999 Honda Accord • 4 cylinder 2WD Automatic • 180,000 miles
I have a 1999 Honda Accord LX 4 door with the Vtec 4 cyl. When the engine is idling with the A/C on the temperature gauge shows the car is getting hot. The passenger side cooling fan is not running. I swapped the fan relays and no change. I shut off the engine and moved the wire from the fan that was running to the fan that was not running restarted the can and the passenger side fan was on. I put the fan wires back in the original position and shut off the engine. I removed the wire from the temp sending unit on the thermostat housing and jumped the wires this did not cause the fan to run. The car does not run hot while driving.
