The car stalls out when i accelerate. what could it be?

The symptoms are these: sometimes but not always when I try to accelerate the gas cuts out and the car stalls. There is no bucking or sputttering. It just dies. After that I have to baby the accelerator and go slowly. If I try to accelerate the gas will cut out again. So, I have to accelerate very slowly to get up to speed.
I got a check engine code reading at Autozone. The code indicated a bad Throttle Position Sensor and a misfire in one cylinder.
I replaced the TPS and and have had a tune up done that included new plugs and wires, cap and rotor, pcv valve and air filter.
The stalling still persists. Can you tell me any other likely suspects or any tests I should have a mechanic do?
Thank you.

Check for vacuum leaks and check fuel pump pressure.
