Ford F-150 Clutch Problem

My truck stalls when I put it into drive or when I come to a stop. It acts like a stick shift without pushing in the clutch when I try to turn or stop. Ive been told its the TCC solenoid. It doesnt do it all the time. It drives fine some days and some days it doesnt. Ive checked the wiring and its good. my question is whether the TCC solenoid will do that. Work at times and mess up at times.
