Ford Explorer Engine Problem

IN VERY COLD WEATHER, WHEN I FIRST START THE ENGINE, IT IDLES FAST FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS AND WANTS TO STALL BUT IF I KEEP PUMPING THE GAS PEDAL FOR A WHILE THE SNGINE WILL KEEP RUNNING.

Check for vacuum leaks and check the IAC (idle air control valve)
