Hello, every now and then my Ford Explorer has trouble starting. It has good plugs and a good fuel filter and there are no check engine codes. What it does is sometimes when you try to start it it will start and will kinda shake trying to crank. When it finally does the engine will rev up a little and it will drive perfect. If you shut it off then start it will fire right up but if you lit it sit for like 5 to 15 minutes it will do that crank thing. Every now and then it will start just fine even sitting for a long time. It also has good fuel injectors. Is there anything that can fix that?

Also, how often do you recommend changing the oil with this many miles? I changed it at 206334 miles, so how many miles should I change it? I use a fram high mileage oil filter and part synthetic motor oil from castrol.

well, old stuff just seems to have quirky problems that take our time and patience. and i've seen people spend loads of money with no good results. or only to have a new problem develop. so just a suggestion based on experience. of course if it's a well known problematic vehicle in the first place that adds to the equation.

yah, it's hard to compare symptoms with experience over the net sometimes. 1 way to do it is take a video and put it on youtube or other site and we can study/listen to it.
