1999 Ford Escort Repair Question

Ford Escort Engine Problem
My 1999 escort misses when frist started up but it goes away.But i smell antafreeze i looked for a leak but i don"t see anything. antafreeze goes down in the holding tank i put some in there about one a month. it idels rough also i have put new pcv value on it i put new plugs and wires new coil has not helped.It runs fine going down the highway.Some times it will run fine for a few days then it starts running bad again .What do you think it is?.

I had same problem , at start the car ran rough and engine code said misfire on one cylinder. Happened at start up and went away after a few minutes till finally one day engine blew.
Turned out it was a valve seat which was displaced . Fairly common problem amongst escorts. Get head taken off and have this reseated asap before valve seat breaks and goes thru the engine
