Ford Cougar 99 engine noise
My 99 2.0l ford cougar is making strange noises.Firstly there is an intermittent knocking noises from the area around the fan belt but the belt does not feel loose.Secondly once the engine is warmed up there is also the sound of a blast of air escaping intermittently and it seems to affect the idle speed,any ideas ??

knocking noise might be harmonic balancer(the main crankshaft pulley).
