1999 Ford Contour oil presure

The engine will loose oil pressure and the light comes on, you can turn the engine off and start it right back up and its good for another mile or two, until the light comes on again

Is the oil clean and full? When the light come on, do you hear any knocking or ticking from the engine?

Changed the oil and filter first thing. Thought the filter may have went bad.
The motor does start to rattle. So it is truely loosing pressure, instead of just a light issue. Thanks

Chances are the oil pump is going bad or the pick-up tube is partially plugged in the oil pan. I wouldn't continue driving it that way until it's fixed. Otherwise, you may cause internal bearing damage.
