1999 Chevrolet Silverado Popping or Misfiring

I just replaced intake gaskets, head gaskets and the rest of the kit then put the engine back together when I started it back up it began to pop what sounded like popcorn then it stopped for a minute then it started doing it until I shut off the engine could it possibly be that I didn't reinstall the distributor properly?

Probably. How did you determine the correct position.

Is the check engine light on and have you read the codes?

I fixed the popping the 1 and 3 wires were crossed at the distributor but now when it starts up it stalls after 15 seconds or so and I didnt mark the distributor when I took it out.

That means that you're going to need a professional scan tool to get the distributor set right.
