I can't get my transmission into park and reverse. There is no problem with transmission shifting and overall performance and the transmission fluid looks good. Can this be solved with a simple linkage adjustment? Should I just talk to a transmission specialist?

It sounds like the cable may be bad. Let someone look at it to confirm before going to a trans shop

Thank you. I trust your opinion and I think it needs a new linkage cable. My main concern right now is that I might have to drive it to work for a few days before I can get it fixed. Would driving it without park and reverse hurt the actual transmission while the car is going down the road? It don't seem like it would but i'd rather get an expert opinion.
