1999 Buick Park Avenue Repair Question

Wondreing why the service engine light blinks and a dinging noise goes off. Changed cat after a loss of power and a rotten egg smell Tried taking bat terminals off for 45 min to perhaps reset the computer and took the muffler off to see if is plugged not plugged

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis,finding out what's going on.
