For a 1999 Buick Park Avenue (170K miles). The front driver-side wheel bearing and the lower control arm are worn and need to be replaced ("clunking noise" under driver's side with left turns); the engine light came on not too long ago and the egr valve needs replacing. About how much am I looking at for parts/labor?

Hello â€

This should give you a rough ball park. Please note! I included both sides on the control arms and wheel hubs. The main reason is both sides have the same miles on them. Why go into one now and 2 months down the road do it again. Save yourself time and money and do both.

On the EGR valve I always suggest changing the solenoid also.....

For the check light....... Not knowing what the light is on for may cost a little more. You can go to Auto Zone (AZ) or O’Reilly’s (OR) and for FREE they can pull the codes to the car. That way you have an idea on what else is wrong with the car. While there for FREE also they can bring their tester out and check your battery and alternator.

Also, check around for estimates. Remember ours is general..... Check the BBB to see about reputable shops, talk to friends etc. Don’t just go to the first one. Looks like most of the work is front end... So see if they can do the EGR also... This may save some time and money. Again, check several places for estimates.

Hope this helps.

Hello â€

Hey one other thing on that. Please don’t wait too long to get that fixed. Bearings can freeze up and control arms can break. You don’t want to be in an accident. So please get that fixed as soon as possible. Thanks

Please let us know if what the final fix was for your car so we can better assist others. Thanks!
