BMW 318I COOLANT PROBLEM

1999 BMW 318i • 122,000 miles

I HAVE A 318i WITH A M43 ENGINE. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE HEATING, WHEN THE CAR IS RINNING BELOW 2000 REVS THERE IS NO HEAT COMING OUT OF THE VENTS IN THE CABIN, ANYTHING OVER THAT AND IT IS FINE.

Is there more information forthcoming? From this point it could be low coolant level or a restriction somewhere or who knows what.

THE HEATING WORKS FINE WHEN IT IS RUNNING OVER 2000 REVS, I CAN NOT SEE ANY WATER LEAKS OR ANY UNUSUAL NOISES AND IT DOES NOT OVER HEAT. THE BLOWER IS FINE. WHEN I BOUGHT IT THE WAS NOT ALOT OF WATER IN IT SO I HAVE FILLED IT UP WITH WATER AND COOLANT. WHEN THE HOT AIR STARTS TO COME THROUGH THE RADIATOR LIGHT COMES ON BRIEFLY. ANY OTHER INFORMATION YOU NEED LET ME KNOW.
REGARDS ALAN
