The check engine light came on and we had it checked, gave 2 codes P0401 Egr valve failed or blocked passage on system, and P1297 electric load detector circuit low input. I have replaced the egr valve and had the code cleared, only to have the same reading once again. What do I need to do to have these problems fixed and clear the codes? Thank you

So did only the egr code come back?If the egr code came back then I would remove the egr valve start the car for a few second's and the rpm's should race and you should hear a loud exhaust leak. If that doesn't happen then you have a clogged port somewhere. Let me know what you find.

Both codes came on, the ELD circuit was actually the first time it came on, if the port on the egr valve is clogged how do I fix it? I can't remove the valve yet my son has the car at school.

If the port's clogged I have heard of some people taking a old piece of speedometer cable with a drill and some carbon cleaner and clearing it that way. The best way would be to remove the intake and clean it that way.I would try a good soaking of carbon cleaner to break up the clog. It all really depends on how bad it's clogged. Are you sure you have a P1297 I can't seem to find that code for your car.I would also have your battery load tested and make sure your battery cable's are clean and tight.

Auto zone use to use a battery load tester what that is is a tool that put's a load on the battery to test's if the battery is good. They now use a different type of tester but yes you can go there to have it tested.

For the EGR code, you actually need to remove the intake manifold and drill the EGR port. Acura will provide you with the new insert sleeve you must install and the drill bit needed.

The ELD code, is most likely a faulty fuse block (that is where the ELD is located).
