1998 Volkswagen Golf Repair Question

VW Golf running problems
I have a 98 1.6L 8v Golf which has trouble starting in the mornings it also revs high when stationery & cuts out when on full lock. I have found an air leak & repaired also have replaced the MAF sensor & cam sensor but fault still there, Any ideas please

Check the exhaust system for restriction-Cat could be clogged-up when throttled up and cuts off.
