Outback window switch broken

The driver side front window switch on my 98 subaru legacy outback cracked and fell off. I want to replace just the little switch button, not the entire switch assembly because it's not broken. I can push a small screw driver in where the button was and operate the window. Any reason why I can't just replace that part? Dealer wants to replace the entire switch assembly for a few hundred dollars which seems crazy although I understand why they don't want to do such a small job as just replacing the button.

I don't believe the button is available alone. The entire switch needs replaced. Contact a parts store and see if they can get a switch for a cheaper price. They are easy to replace.

I understand that the button can't be ordered but if I could get it at a salvage yard or off one of my back doors, then it is interchangeable, right?
