My 98 sunfire is in realy great condion, it was ver well taken care of. Well all except the over heating prob, thers never a prob first thing in the morning to start or if its been sitting for atleast a hour or two. Now if were driving an the temp reaches the sec line on the temp gauge, it quickly starts having symptoms of a vapor lock. Now if the car is parked an then started again, unless that car has cooled down t were it reads below the sec line, it just cranks an cranks an cranks.

Scan for codes and check fuel pressure first. Auto parts rent gauge. For the overheat if low on coolant have apro pressure check system for a h ead gasket problem. Your fuel pump may be weak and when warm won't give pressure enough to start and run.
