1998 Pontiac Bonneville Repair Question

Who's fault is it?
I bought a Pontiac Bonneville SE just over three weeks ago with the engine light on. I had the codes checked at Autozone before I bought it and it was miss firing on cylinder five. Midas gave it a Safety & Emissions Test, it failed, they checked the codes, gave it a diagnostic test, they changed some wires and the engine light went out for a couple of days. I took it back and the mechanic Karl said they did something with the vacuum hoses and the light went out again. He told me to just comeback in a couple of months for an oil change. He told me it was cool. The second and third week the light was on one day, off the on, one morning, off by night. By the end of the third week after filling up the tank the car has issues picking up speed for hust a minute after leaving the highway. About 45 minutes later after it was even resting for about 10 minutes the car stopped on me while driving. I managed to get it back start and it had issues picking up speed and stopped many times before getting home. I checked the oil and Transmission fluids, they were okay. However, the car barely made it to Midas two days later. They put coolant in the vehicle and it died, the motor is gone. They said in the past three weeks I neglected to put coolant it needed in it. The car never showed any signs of overheating and I figured Midas would have saw that if my engine light was coming on and off for that reason.

This is a tough call. Did you ask Midas if they checked the coolant?
