1998 Oldsmobile 88 Repair Question

My oldsmobile has a very rough idol, what should i do?
I have a delta 88 Oldsmobile that i just replaced the battery and all the plugs and wires, but the idol is still rough like there's a dead cylinder or two, it shakes the entire car and i have to press down on the gas pedal in order to even keep it RUNNING! What should i do/check?

Is the Malfunction Indicator Light showing and have you checked for trouble codes?
Any difference before and after replacement of the parts conerned?
