I was at a traffic light and when the light turned green I started to drive and my car wouldnt go but 20 miles per hour. I stopped and got gas thinking that I was running out of gas. Car kept acting up all the way home with not wanting to go fast at all. I got the car home and turned it off, went to start it to drive it around the block and it died in mid backing out of the parking spot. Then wouldnt start back up. When my father in-law tested the fuel line no fuel was coming out. I have been told that it was my fuel filter changed that and nothing still. I dont want to replace the pump if its something simple so we are starting with the small fixes first. Please let me know if you can help me.

Check for power to the pump. Lift the rear seat and remove the cover, turn on the key and see if the pump is working.

Sounds like it has failed. Check this first
