My car has a 2.8 diesel engine. How do I replace the timing chain and set the timing? The chain has been making a racket recently and honestly we have no spare cash to take it to a workshop. I service and do most of the repairs to the vehicle and do understand the risk of no valve clearance. That is why I need as much advice as I can get which will be highly appreciated.

Hello,

This is the information we have for you to retime the engine crankshaft to the camshaft. They are a couple of different diagrams so use the one that fits your engine. Be sure not to mistime the engine because it will hurt the positions and valves if you are off.

Check out the diagrams (Below)

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed. Cheers, Ken
