1998 Mercury Sable Repair Question

Mercury Sable Battery Problem
Just recently since it has gotten really cold, Everytime i start my car, it starts slow, but usually starts, and all of my presests are reset to default, radio, clock, temperature etc.....what could be causing this?

have the battery checked for condition and load test
