How to replace piston in a 1998 Mazda 626

remove cylinder head, remove oil pan, remove rod cap, push rod and piston out top of engine. remove wrist pin out of rod/piston. put new piston on rod. use ring compressor to hold rings while pushing piston back into cylinder insuring facing right direction. replace rod cap, oil pan and head. drive away happy.

oops! forgot to say dull cylinder wall with hone so new rings seat properly. and maybe replace rod bearing with new 1.have fun
