Heater Problem

1998 Mark VIII heater does not get hot - barely warm. We have had Ford dealer look at it and someone at the local Goodyear Store. They said the output is perfect but the car never warms up when you are going down the road. Iowa weather isn't for having a car w/no heater!

Is the engine temp normal? or is that also running cooler than normal, your thermostat may be jambed open causing the cool running, feel both heater hoses with the engine hot, are they both hot, and about the same temp?

Most likely you have a broken blend air door. The 2nd Gen Mk8's are well known for this problem. Ford came out with one a little beefier than the old design.
