I have a 1998 jeep cherokee sport 4.0, why do I smell gas and these no leaks? I just had the valves changed and head shaved and a tune up, its just around town, on the highway I dont smell it?

You do have a leak. You just haven't found it yet. It may be a very small leak and the fuel will evaporate very quickly so you may have to search for it with the engine running. I have seen some techs use baby powder to help find it.
