1998 GMC Jimmy Repair Question

Topics covered: Engine, Gas.

I have a 1998 GMC Jimmy 4x4. The transmission seems to be locked. The only way to push the car was to remove the rear axle driveshaft. The front driveshaft spins freely. The transfer case can be heard clicking when try to shift from 2wd to 4wd.

The car will not move under its own power. With the engine running and trans in gear, there doesn't seem to be any load on the engine such as when you step on the gas and service brake at the same time.
