1998 Ford Taurus Repair Question

I need help with my car heater
It is a 98 ford tarus and under the dash behind the ash tray compartment there is a clicking noise that I believe is stopping the heater in my car from working. It blows cold air but not hot air. If not what else do you think could cause it? Thank you.

The clicking could be something that has gotten caught in the blend door. Do the hoses to and from the heater core get hot? Can you hear the doors actuating when you select outlets and temperature? Can you see the actuators moving?
